“The Light of The World,” (1853-54) William Holman Hunt

Posted: February 9, 2014 in Uncategorized

Members of our year 11 Brilliant Club had the privilege of having a tour of Keble College during their graduation day at Oxford University last year. This painting, located in their chapel was inspired by Revelation 3:20: “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”(NLT) This weeks the theme is light. As you meditate on the gospel this week, perhaps use the painting as a focal point.

Prayer for Being Filled With Christ’s Light

Lord, help me follow Your Light today,
Let Your Light be in all I say,
Let Your Light be in all I do,
Lord, let my heart reflect from You,
Your holy love, Your peace, and joy,
Let my life shine for You, Lord!
Oh Jesus, Light of the world, my Friend,
Fill me with Thy Light and send
My heart, my mind, and all my being
Into the world Your light to bring,
Your Truth in all You do through me
From now until eternity.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
